Suit Therapy (THERASUIT METHOD)

Therasuit
The Therasuit is comprised of a cap, vest, shorts, kneepads, and adapted shoes made from a soft material that is worn over a client’s clothing.  The suit helps position the body in proper alignment. A series of elastic bands on the suit provide input to the body to help a client learn how to move a certain way and provide resistance to strengthen muscles.

In short, it improves strength, posture, alignment and body awareness!

Universal Exercise Unit (UEU)
The UEU is a total exercise and therapeutic gym with a system of pulleys, straps, and weights that is to perform various therapeutic exercises to improve strength, active range of motion, and balance. Clients are placed in a gravity-eliminated position to strengthen specific muscles that are often too difficult to do in traditional exercises. Functional activities, such as crawling and standing, can also be practiced with the use of bungee cords for assistance.

Why Intensive Physical Therapy?

Individuals with neuromuscular disorders require significant amount of repetition and reinforcement to learn or re-learn a new skill.   Intensive physical therapy is the arena to accelerate the learning process of a specific skill so that a child can take that new skill and apply it in their daily life. Significant improvement in a child’s abilities can be seen with the use of multiple therapeutic tools including the Universal Exercise Unit and the Therasuit.

Home Exercise program

Following the therapy program, parents are given an individualized exercise program to do at home with their child. Many continue to use and perfect their new skills- maintaining their progress and integrating the skills they've learned into their daily lives.

Therapeutic exercises using easy to follow step-by-step pictures or video is an essential and enjoyable daily workout routine that both parent and child will benefit from.

Teamwork

Parental involvement and collaboration with the community are key components in the success of a child’s abilities. We believe that a child’s success following therapy must continue through an ongoing sport or recreational activity that challenges the child to achieve new skills. Dynamic Kids is committed to collaborate with parents and their community resources to optimize the child's function.
